The Top Trends We Love From Fashion Week

Fashion month is almost over (sob) but boy did it deliver! We’ve spotted the top trends for aw20 and we’re a little obsessed. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the designers and to keep up with the latest style news which is why we’ve hunted down the key top trends for you. From party tops to more glamorous evening tops, the runway was full of night out inspiration not to mention gorgeous everyday options too.  Get ahead of the fash pack and incorporate these trends into your wardrobe right now because why wait?

Going out tops

Fashion brought sexy back this season. Think black lace cami tops and leather corsets perfect for going out and seducing the world (if you’re in the mood ofc). Designers embraced the after dark vibe with lacey cut out bodysuits, bandeau tops and cage corset cuts sticking to a strictly black colour palette. We were treated to a sensual line up of going out tops in sheer and silky fabrics with lace detailing across the runway and we’re not mad at it. Going out out? This trend was made for you.

OTT Florals

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. Seriously though, if it ain’t broke why fix it? Designers are still as obsessed with a floral print as ever so why not join in and embrace the blooms? Flower bomb your wardrobe this season by adding in floral blouses, ditsy printed shirts and t-shirts with sheer floral sleeves.

Statement sleeves

According to the runway, statement sleeves are here to stay. So, double the drama, turn up the volume and say yes to organza eleganza this season. Spotting statement sleeves this season was a breeze and we were treated to an inspired line up of ruched to balloon designs and extreme 80’s power shoulders. Add ALL the drama into your wardrobe with tops that scream attitude. We’ve got the frill sleeved blouses, organza sheer shirts and puff sleeved t-shirts you need for big sleeve energy 24/7 or, for a more subtle trend take, opt for a crisp white shirt with balloon sleeves

Paisley Prints

We spotted a welcomed return to paisley print this season and we’re a little obsessed. Designers were print happy, and paisley was at the top of their list. From silk blouses covered in the tear drop motif to oversized paisley smocks with fringe detailing, the pattern is back, and we predict it’ll be here for the foreseeable. Play into this trend easily by adding a paisley shirt or blouse into your wardrobe, styling it simply with denim flares and cowboy boots to get one step ahead of everyone else.

Ruffles

It looks like we’ll be rocking ruffles for the foreseeable because the runway was full to the brim with flounce. Ruffles were given a metallic makeover by designers while others experimented with all the colours of the rainbow. We’re pretty sure you already have a ruffled top in your collection, but it doesn’t hurt to update your wardrobe once in a while. From frilly high neck tops in sugar sweet shades to casual t-shirts and shirts with added frills, you’re spoiled for choice this season.
